40+ Years Saving Pets From Uncertain Futures

We are a 501(c)(3) approved nonprofit rescue based in Tennessee and New Jersey with over 40 years of combined experience. We primarily rescue dogs (and some cats) from Tennessee to transport them to homes in New Jersey. The reason for this is because of how dogs are treated in Tennessee through the very limited animal protection laws. Dogs are left to stray and dumped all the time and, worse, shot simply because they are no longer wanted or ‘trespassing’ on someone’s property. All of that is currently within the legal parameters of the State of Tennessee. We value every animal's life and move them to New Jersey where the animal protection laws are strong.

If you want a pet from us, please understand that our program is a foster to adopt program. The steps to this program are:

-Email communication with a screening questionnaire followed by a telephone interview. During the telephone interview you will be given further insight into the pet and how our program works.

- Social media interaction via Facebook and messenger. Communication is EXTREMELY important to us. Interaction on these platforms will demonstrate not only your desire for the pet but how well you will communicate with us going forward. You don't have to like or comment on every post but please be ‘present’.

- A home inspection / meet and greet in your home. If all goes well, the pet can be left with you for a foster period of time. This is to ensure that the pet acclimates to your home, family and other pets (if any) and that you want to keep the pet. If things do not work out, we will come and retrieve the pet. If things do work out, we will see you at a point of time deemed appropriate (between the rescue operator and you) to complete the adoption agreement.

IMPORTANT DIETARY NOTE FOR DOGS:
During the foster period, you will be given food for the dog(s). As per our Foster Agreement, you may only feed our dogs Fromm’s Four-Star Salmon A La Veg dry dog food. We do not want the dogs having a yo-yo diet in case they are returned; continuity is best for their digestive tract. Fromm’s is family owned, one of the best dry foods with high-quality protein sources (not fillers), nutrient-dense whole ingredients and produced via controlled, small batch productions with no recalls on this particular product.

You may 'top' the food with eggs (plain, no oils or spices), a scoop of pure pumpkin puree, greek yogurt, cottage cheese and diced fruits or veggies as below.

Milkbone Dog Bones or Fresh Pet Dog Joys

Fruits & Vegetables Permitted:*
Bananas (no peels)
Blueberries (wash well in 1 part water to 3 parts vinegar & rinse)
Sweet Potatoes (fresh not canned and skin removed)
Organic Pumpkin Puree
Organic Carrots
Apple Slices (skinned and cored/seeds removed)
Watermelon (Seedless / Seeds Removed), Honeydew, Cantaloupe (no rinds on either)
Broccoli
Brussel Sprouts
Green Beans

*Please ensure the fruit and veggies are cut into the bite sized pieces.
